The challenge

Treatwell, a retail business with 650 users, needed to give 200 of its users secure remote access to their desktops and applications. Its remote access ran on Citrix, and the company wanted to move to Azure Virtual Desktop.

  • Secure remote desktops needed for 200 users
  • An existing Citrix environment to replace
  • Users needed to keep working while the platform changed
  • A new platform to design end to end, from architecture through to migration

Our approach

  1. Design and architecture

We designed the end-to-end Azure Virtual Desktop solution and its architecture around the needs of Treatwell's 200 remote users.

  2. Build on Microsoft Azure

We built the Azure Virtual Desktop environment in Microsoft Azure, with the security and access controls the business needed.

  3. Migrate from Citrix

We migrated the remote users from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop and completed the move in January 2026.

The results

  • 200 remote users now work on Azure Virtual Desktop instead of Citrix
  • Treatwell's remote desktop platform now runs on Microsoft Azure, designed, built and migrated end to end by ITCP
